European ADRs Move Lower in Wednesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.36% lower at 1,052.18 on the BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM) and 3D printer maker voxeljet (VJET), which climbed 10.4% and 6.5% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (STM) and Deutsche Bank (DB), which rose 4.3% and 2.9%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND) and biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP), which fell 8% and 7.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm MorphoSys (MOR) and internet advertising company Criteo (CRTO), which dropped 5% and 2.3%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and Barclays Bank (BCS), which rose 2.7% and 1.2% respectively. They were followed by mining company Rio Tinto (RIO), and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD), which were up 1.1% and 1%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which fell 3.4% and 1.8% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca (AZN) and medical device maker Smith & Nephew (SNN), which were down 1.4% and 1.3%.
